2020 Lexus GS  – It’s been a hard time since we last reviewed a Lexus GS four and a half years to be exact. But now we’re here with the latest 2020 version, which we recently found out will be the last version ever sold in America. So, what we required to do was take one last look at this Lexus midsize sedan and bid it a final farewell after four generations.

What You Have to Get From 2020 Lexus GS

For those of you who don’t remember, the 2020 Lexus GS was kind of the Lexus that started it all, so to speak in terms of the brand-new design language. This was the first Lexus to get the now iconic and still kind of controversial spindle grille. But back in 2013, this was a big deal, so of course, this is as large as ever actually. We believe it was enlarged a little bit bigger back in his 2016 refresh; on the F-Sport as far as your headlights, they also have always been controversial with that swoop design.

Then in 2016, Lexus even separated it to make it even more aggressive. On this specific example, we have the optional triple beam led headlights; now down there at your wheels, there are a couple of different versions. You can choose from the standard 2020 Lexus GS 350 is going to have an 18-inch alloy. But if you select the F-Sport version, that’s where you’re going to get this 19-inch contrast alloy.

Coming up to your mirrors, they are power-folding heated and auto-dimming. The 2020 Lexus GS  rear end we have to say you know we always thought this GS looked quite lovely. And of course, that does continue now up top. We do have a spoiler on the F-Sport models. Down below entirely led taillights on this GS, and then at the very bottom, we also have trapezoidal exhaust pipes across all the GS lineup, which does give it a sporty flair. Even though this is relatively old, it still is a Lexus after all, so they do throw in their Lexus safety system suite as standard across the entire lineup.

When talk of this cabin, it’s obsessively detailed every single derivative of this interior. But we will say that the vast majority of the models will come with real leather seating. This car equipped with our favorite interior color, which is the rioja red kind of a dark vibrant looking red with some black accents, looks stunning. Above it, we also have aluminum accents on this f-sport model, and then all four-year windows are going to be one-touch automatic. As far as these seats, they do adjust in just about every way you can imagine since you have a power thigh extension. Even have power adjusting bolsters as well, and the leather quality is excellent.

Checking out the 2020 Lexus GS gauges, if we not mistaken, this started the trend of putting the LFA inspired measures into the more mainstream Lexus models. This setup is widespread among Lexus products. You’ll get your big tachometer right there in the middle and your 4.2-inch multi-function display. Speaking of the steering wheel, of course, you do have electric power-assisted steering. You also have a charming leather-wrapped steering wheel with some perforated leather.

The interior storage, like always, the first thing you’re going to reveal, is a couple of hidden buttons. There one turns on off your parking sensors, and then this one right there that adjusts your rear sunshade. In front of that underneath of this aluminum, we’ve got our two cup holders, but there is not any more storage up there in the front. As far as the shifter, this is the traditional gated shifter for the Lexus brand, you can bump over here to the left to shift manually, and you do also have paddle shifters.

As you would expect, we have the upgraded 17 speaker mark Levenson premium sound system. Going to be the information system, this is an older style setup with the recessed display. The display itself is gigantic; it’s 12.3 inches. It is not a touch screen like you see; in some of the most recent Lexus products like the new RX, that means you will be controlling it with this remote touch controller.

In the day, it’s one of our first ones, one of our first reviews, and we didn’t get the chance to drive it. Back then, this is a new experience for this farewell to the 2020 Lexus GS . But we have to say it feels quite sturdy; we like it this. Of course, is a naturally aspirated v6 engine, three and a half liters making 311 horsepower 280 pound-feet of torque. All the other variants over time have been discontinued.

There used to be a hybrid model that’s been gone for a couple of years. The four-cylinder one also comes no longer with us, so you’re just down to just this three and a half liter v6 take it or leave it. As far as like speaker enhancement, we are not complaining. Really like the sound of it, it doesn’t sound like other Lexus three and a half liter v6 engines. We want to talk about another aspect that is aged very gracefully, and that’s going to be this eight-speed automatic transmission.

You or people know the performance of this transmission is excellent. It is very responsive to your needs. You know it doesn’t hesitate to shift down when we want more power, and the overall shift quality is smooth but crisp. So, it’s not like a real slow, sludgy type of transmission like you might expect from.

You know a less sporty model you know it still does have that beautiful sporty character matches with the rest of the vehicle. It is worth noting you’re not going to get the eight-speed automatic on every model. If you’re going to if you choose all-wheel drive, you’re going to have to go back to the six-speed automatic transmission. That’s something to have in mind, but if you get the rear-drive model?

It’s going to have the eight-speed automatic, and we guess that does kind of lead into the fuel economy figure. Two drivetrains mean two fuel economy figures here. If you go for the rear-wheel-drive, that’s going to be 20 cities, 28 highway, 23 combined. If you go for an all-wheel drive, it’s going to be knocked down two mpg, 22 combined, and actually, if you go for the f-sport uh rear-wheel ride, it’s 22 so you have 21 22 or 23 depending on which trim level.

2020 Lexus GS  Price

The pricing for this 2020 Lexus GS , in the base model that’s going to start at $51.395 bucks and then if you want to go for the F-Sport, that’s not going to be too much of a price premium at only $52.760, and those are for the rear-wheel-drive version.
